About Me
“ Painting is my passion, and nature is my endless inspiration. With every brushstroke, I strive to capture its beauty, emotion, and spirit on canvas.”
Hello I’m Margaret, I was born in Tasmania and have traveled and lived in various locations worldwide, including California and Malaysia. During my time in the USA, I had the privilege of working and studying with renowned contemporary artists. This experience led me to dedicate my life to painting and the profound joy it brings.
Currently residing near the ocean in Western Australia, I find inspiration in the restless movement and vibrant colours of the sea, the tranquil serenity of the Australian bush and the fragile beauty of flowers. Living in close proximity to nature is an endless source of inspiration for me, and I also hope to share this wonder through my paintings.
I am also interested in the built landscape, particularly in the cities I have visited in Europe. I very much enjoy experimenting with different techniques and love sharing these insights with my students during my regular workshops. During 2024/5 I have held over twenty workshops in my fully equipped studio in both acrylics and watercolour.
I am privileged to be a Golden Artist Educator, Silverbrush Educator and member of the Bridgeman Studio(London)
I was one of 80 artists world wide to be selected by the Golden Artist Colors company to travel to Florida for a week’s workshop and to exhibit during the Art Basil week. My last exhibition was in London at the Brick Lane gallery, which was an amazing experience for me. Prior to that I have had 29 solo exhibitions in America, Melbourne and Perth. I am frequently asked to demonstrations for artist groups and find it a lot of fun. My latest projects participating in the 25 Show Off exhibition by the City of Cockburn and preparing for my upcoming solo exhibition in May, which will showcase a collection of my major works.
In recognition of my contributions to promoting the arts, I received the Australian Centennial Medal. I’m also an active member of Rotary International.
